October 18th, 2009 NLCS Game 3




The Colorado Rockies used the long ball to overcome a 3-1 deficit going into the bottom of the 8th to win 4-3 and take a 2-1 lead in the National League Championship Series. Brad Hawpe tied it in the 8th with a two run shot, and then Carlos "Cargo" Gonzalez clinched it in dramatic fashion with a walk off home run. Dodgers 2nd baseman Orlando Hudson was hit by a pitch in the 7th inning, and will be out for several more games.

In an exciting finish the Colorado Rockies pulled out a win over the Los
Angeles(NL) Dodgers by a score of 4 to 3 at Coors Field.

The game was decided in the bottom of the 9th inning. Carlos Gonzalez cracked
a solo homerun resulting in a mighty exciting win for Colorado and the 49,067
home town fans in attendance. Although they lost, Los Angeles(NL) did
out-hit Colorado 10 to 7.

Franklin Morales(1-2) allowed no runs in 2 innings, and picked up the victory.
Ronald Belisario(1-1) was the loser in relief. He pitched 1 inning and
surrendered 3 hits and no walks.
