In a good matchup it was the Los Angeles(NL) Dodgers 4, the St. Louis
Cardinals 2 in 12 innings at Busch Stadium.
The score was tied at 2 after nine. Los Angeles(NL) won the game in the 12th
inning. Mark Loretta led off and started the rally when he laced a one-base
hit. Orlando Hudson came to the plate and drew a walk. Rafael Furcal then
laid down a sacrifice bunt. Matt Kemp followed and he laced a base-knock.
Andre Ethier struck out, unable to help the rally. Both teams totaled 11
hits on the night.
Hong-Chih Kuo(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 inning and allowing
no runs. Kuo got help from Jonathan Broxton who was credited with his 2nd
save. Kyle McClellan(0-1) was the losing pitcher in relief.
