| The Los Angeles Dodgers came from behind to become the first team to advance to the next round. A surprisingly effective John Smoltz held LA to 1 run through six innings, and left with the lead intact in the 7th, but a hanging slider from reliever Tim Miller to Matt Kemp erased Smoltz's strong outing. Cardinals' first baseman Albert Pujols also missed several opportunties to drive in runs. Skipper Tony LaRussa will have plenty of time to ruminate over their exit as their season is over. |
