October 11th, 2009 NLDS Series 1, Game 3

The Philadelphia Phillies managed to pull a Houdini like escape from a three game sweep. Down 4-0 after the first inning, the Phillies rallied behind a Ryan Howard Grand Slam. Closer Brad Lidge gave up the tying run in the 9th, but capitalized on a Jason Werth homer in the 10th and took advantage of his second chance to notch the save.

Both teams were tied at 5 runs apiece after nine innings. Finally,
Philadelphia pulled the game out in the 10th inning. Jayson Werth smashed a
bases-empty 'big-fly'. After an out was recorded, Pedro Feliz stepped up to
the plate and he lined a base-hit. One out later, Brad Lidge was next to the
plate, but was promptly struck out. Philadelphia finished with 12 hits in

Lidge(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 2 innings and allowing 1 run.
Franklin Morales(0-1) ended up with the loss in relief. He allowed 1 run and
2 hits in 1 inning.
