| A wet night in the Bronx made pitching difficult. Angels starter Jerod Weaver yielded 9 hits and 6 walks in only 5 and 2/3 of an inning, but it was Yankee ace C.C. Sabathia who suffered more as his 11 hits and 2 walks resulted in 8 Angels runs in 4 and 1/3 innings en route to a 10-3 win in game one of the ALCS. Torii Hunter continued his torrid pace, going 4 for 4 with a home run and three RBIs, but he was upstaged by teammate Kendry Morales who hit 2 home runs and doubled, also robbing Robinson Cano of an extra base hit down the first base line. Mark Texiera led the Yankees with two doubles, continuing his superb post season. |
