October 12th, 2009 - ALDS Series 2, Game 4

The LA Angels are going on, and the Boston Red Sox are going home after another slugfest in which the Angels hit first and harder. Thanks to yet another home run by Torii Hunter and 4 other hits, Jon Lester was unable to record even a single out. Meanwhile, Angels pitcher John Lackey refused to surrender the ball, and won a complete game victory despite yielding six runs.

John Lackey pitched a complete game and catcher Mike Napoli homered and had 2
RBI as the Los Angeles(AL) Angels defeated the Boston Red Sox by the score of
11 to 6 at Fenway Park.
 
Los Angeles(AL) started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their
half of the first scoring 5 runners on 5 hits.  The critical plate appearance
was by Torii Hunter who deflated the spirits of the home town crowd when he
lofted a three-run bomb.  Los Angeles(AL) had 12 hits for the night.  
 
The win was credited to Lackey(1-0) who went the whole way allowing 6 runs.
Jon Lester(0-1) was charged with the loss.
